YWCA NWLA is seeking a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member to support the Plant A Seed Youth Program’s fund development and literacy outreach in Northwest Louisiana. The role emphasizes growing fundraising strategies, improving donor databases, and coordinating resources for youth education activities.

Job description

The YWCA NWLA Poverty Reduction Initiative project affects low-income underserved people in Northwest Louisiana, including Caddo and Bossier Parish, Louisiana. This project focuses on eliminating poverty through literacy and education preparedness. Plant a Seed Youth Foundation provides after-school education and activities to improve student performance, learn life skills and provide community outreach to the area.

Member Duties

Improve and further develop the Plant A Seed In Our Youth fund development plan and develop and coordinate sustainable fundraising strategies. Strengthen existing fundraising activities, develop new funding resources, improve donor and grant databases and resources with specific emphasis on the organization's capital campaign. Establish long‑term systems that increase the organization's capacity to serve youth and helps and help break the cycle of poverty in the area.
