Job summary

Conexus, a leading venture capital firm in Santa Monica, seeks a Controller to own accounting and financial reporting for investment funds and related entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will operate in a lean, high-impact setting and collaborate with a third-party fund administrator.

The ideal candidate has CPA and 4–7 years in VC/PE fund accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and a track record in audits and investor reporting.

Qualifications

• CPA is required and strong fund accounting background.
• 4–7 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in VC/PE funds.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with audits, investor reporting, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting and financial reporting for investment funds and related entities.
• Review work performed by third-party fund administrator.
• Review fund financial statements, capital activity, investments and partner capital.
• Support quarterly/annual reporting, audits, tax processes, and investor reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators and external providers.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and scalability.
• Partner with CFO on special projects and broader finance initiatives.
