Job summary

CFS has partnered with an investment management firm in Boston to recruit an experienced Fund Controller. This role oversees fund accounting, financial reporting, and third-party relationships across a diverse portfolio of funds.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in fund accounting or asset management, a CPA is preferred, and strong Excel and communication skills to drive accurate reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 8+ years of fund accounting, fund administration, asset management, or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of partnership accounting and investment fund structures.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Experience working with third-party administrators and external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting, NAV reporting, financial statements, and audit coordination.
• Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, banks, and other service providers.
• Support valuation processes and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Partner with investment, operations, and investor relations teams on ongoing fund activities.
• Assist with budgeting, cash management, and treasury-related functions.
• Support new fund launches and operational improvement initiatives.
• Ensure investor reporting and other key deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

Position Overview
