Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting and reconciliations for multi-asset portfolios.

• Prepare internal and external reporting and performance analysis.
• Oversee third-party administrators and fee calculations.
• Coordinate with service providers for filings and statements.
• Serve as primary contact between GCM Grosvenor and sponsors.
• Collaborate with legal, tax, treasury, client services and investments teams.
• Lead process improvements and ad-hoc requests.

Job description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our multi asset class fund accounting team. This individual will be responsible for the accounting and operational oversight of a diverse portfolio of hedge funds, private equity and private credit funds, and related investment vehicles.

As an onsite/hybrid employee, you are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform day-to-day accounting and reconciliations for multi-asset class and/or private credit portfolios
• Process investment activities across various asset classes including public and private equities, public and private debt, swaps, options, and forwards
• Review monthly and/or quarterly valuations for Level I, II, and III securities
• Complete internal and external reporting for assigned funds, including investment performance analysis, exposure reporting, marketing materials, and GCM corporate deliverables
• Oversee third-party administrators' work, including issuing capital activity notices, calculating management and performance fees, finalizing net asset values, and distributing capital statements
• Coordinate with service providers to complete compliance filings and issue financial statements
• Act as primary point of contact between GCM and investment sponsors
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams including legal, tax, treasury, client services and investments
• Manage and provide guidance to outsourced operations providers
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders
• Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives, as requested

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance with outstanding academic credentials; applicable coursework or internship in the field of investments or financial markets
• 2-5 years of experience working for a financial services firm or top-tier accounting firm
• CPA preferred
• Accounting experience with private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or similar alternative products is preferred
• Experience with general ledger and/or portfolio software, such as Advent Geneva preferred
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
• Demonstrated team player, self-starter and independent thinker with excellent judgment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Knowledge of partnership accounting, as well as exposure to financial reporting, auditing and tax

Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's experience, skills, and qualifications for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on factors such as individual, team, and company performance as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

$85,000 - $110,000 USD
