Job summary

GCM Grosvenor in Chicago is seeking a meticulous Fund Accountant to oversee accounting for hedge funds, private equity, and private credit vehicles. The role involves VARIOUS asset classes, reconciliations, and NAV work, with close collaboration across legal, tax, and investments teams.

Onsite/hybrid work is required with in-office days Tuesday to Thursday. A discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits are noted in the posting. The base salary aligns with the Chicago range of $85k–$110k.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance with strong academic record.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or similar alternative products is preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting and reconciliations for multi-asset class and private credit portfolios.
• Process investment activities across asset classes including public and private equities, public and private debt, swaps, options, and forwards.
• Review monthly and/or quarterly valuations for Level I, II, and III securities.
• Prepare internal and external reporting for funds, including performance analysis and NAVs.
• Oversee third-party administrators’ work, including capital activity notices and fee calculations.
• Coordinate with service providers for filings and financial statements.
• Act as primary contact between GCM Grosvenor and investment sponsors.
• Collaborate with legal, tax, treasury, client services and investments teams.
• Manage outsourced operations providers and respond to ad-hoc requests.
• Lead special projects and process improvements.
