Job summary

Coda Search has partnered with a well-regarded private equity firm to hire an Assistant Controller to manage fund accounting operations and support the deal team through every stage of investment activity. The role contributes to financial reporting across the platform and strengthens internal controls within a fast-moving finance team.

You will lead close processes, collaborate with auditors, and prepare investor reporting packages while upholding GAAP standards and firm-wide accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA highly desirable.
• 8+ years of accounting experience in private equity, real estate, investment management, or public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, partnership accounting, and investment reporting.

Responsibilities

• Help manage financial reporting for private equity funds and investment vehicles.
• Prepare and evaluate quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Lead the monthly and quarterly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
• Assist the deal team with transaction execution and closing procedures.
• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors and fund administrators.
• Produce investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and performance reviews.
• Evaluate partnership allocations, distribution waterfalls, and carried interest calculations.
• Contribute to cash management, liquidity forecasting, and treasury functions.
• Uphold and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and operating procedures.

This individual will be central to managing fund accounting operations, supporting the deal team across every stage of the investment process, and contributing to financial reporting and fund accounting activities throughout the platform.
