Job summary

Coda Search│Staffing partners with a leading Private Equity group to hire an Assistant Controller to lead fund accounting operations and support the investment lifecycle.

You will oversee financial reporting for multiple funds, coordinate with auditors, and drive process improvements across treasury and controls. This role demands strong GAAP knowledge and extensive private equity accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting experience within private equity, real estate, investment management, or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, partnership accounting, and investment reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with accounting platforms and fund reporting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting for multiple private equity funds and investment vehicles.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support deal team with transaction execution and closing activities.
• Coordinate with external auditors and fund administrators.
• Prepare investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and performance analyses.
• Review partnership allocations, waterfalls, and carried interest calculations.
• Assist with cash management, liquidity planning, and treasury activities.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

This individual will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting operations, supporting the deal team throughout the investment lifecycle, and assisting with financial reporting and fund accounting functions across the platform.

• Support the deal team with transaction execution and closing activities
