Job summary

Royal Search Group is seeking an Accounting professional to own the accrual-based accounting lifecycle for a portfolio of investment entities in Charlotte. This role handles investor closings, payables, and drives the month-end close while maintaining the general ledger.

You will prepare investor reporting, assist with audits and tax filings, and work closely with public accounting influences within a collaborative team focused on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.

Job description

This role is in office in Charlotte (beautiful new office), with great flexibility. Base + Bonus + great benefits including 401k match, unlimited PTO, and good insurance.

Candidates coming directly from public accounting firms (audit, tax, consulting/advisory), should be encouraged to apply...both the Accounting Manager and the Controller who this role report to, come from public accounting.

Previous experience with fund accounting is not required!

Summary of the role:

Own the lifecycle of accrual‑based accounting for a portfolio of investment entities—from recording investor closings and managing payables to driving month‑end close and maintaining the general ledger. You’ll calculate and process investor distributions, keep capital accounts audit‑ready, deliver clear financial and investor reporting, and support audits and tax filings. Heavily involved with month end close, reconciliations, preparing journal entries and financial statements.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred but not required.

Minimum of 1 years of relevant accounting experience.

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes.

Preferred:

CPA designation preferred (not required).

Experience in real estate, private equity, or investment fund accounting is nice to have but not required.
