Job summary

Mission Staffing is seeking a Fund Accountant to join a leading global alternative investment manager. The role offers exposure to complex fund accounting, investor reporting, cash management, and sophisticated structures while collaborating with experienced Fund Controllers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of fund accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, strong Excel skills, and a proven ability to work independently and in teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of fund accounting or related experience.
  • Fund accounting experience in closed-end private equity or real estate is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate credit facility interest payments, paydowns, and drawdowns while calculating interest payments and accruals.
  • Reconcile fund positions, including contributions, distributions, P&L, returns, and IRR, between management reporting systems and accounting schedules.
  • Calculate gross and net investor returns using current-period cash flows and ending NAV.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, including preparation of activity reports and reporting templates.
  • Review management company expenses allocated to funds and facilitate expense payments across fund structures.
  • Perform cash reconciliations across multiple entities and assist with financial reporting, journal entries, trial balances, and partner capital statements.
  • Support fund controllers with complex calculations and models, including waterfall and management fee calculations.
  • Help streamline operational and reporting procedures and assist with ad hoc reporting requests.
