Job summary

LHH in Austin, TX is seeking a Fund Accountant to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for internal management, lenders, and investors. You will prepare NAV statements, review valuations, and ensure accurate reporting across multiple packages.

The role requires 2+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and advanced Excel skills. CPA preferred. This is a hybrid office role near Downtown Austin.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare fund monthly reporting packages.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and statement of changes in equity) as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lender and investor reporting deliverables.
• Prepare investor NAV statements and supporting calculations for capital activity and allocations.
• Review third-party appraisals and internal valuation models (DCF) for quarterly fair value reporting.
• Review contracts to ensure accounting and reporting accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare wire requests for distributions and ad hoc cash requests.
• Prepare annual audit reports, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
• Work with external auditors to ensure GL accounts are supported for annual audit.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate requests and ensure timely information flow.
• Support automation initiatives and special projects to improve accounting processes.

The Fund Accountant supports the company cross-functionally by preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, lender and investor reporting deliverables, and quarterly valuation reviews for internal management, portfolio management, lenders, and investors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fund monthly reporting packages.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and statement of changes in equity, as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lender and investor reporting deliverables.
• Prepare investor NAV statements and supporting calculations for capital activity and allocations.
• Review third-party appraisals and internal valuation models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses and key assumptions, to support quarterly fair value financial reporting.
• Review contracts associated with fund reporting to ensure accounting and reporting are accurate and complete.
• Prepare journal entries to record financial activity.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare wire requests for distributions and other ad hoc cash requests.
• Prepare annual audit reports, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
• Work with external auditors to ensure general ledger accounts are properly supported and documented for the annual audit.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate requests and ensure the timely flow of information supporting financial reporting and analysis.
• Support automation initiatives and special projects to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Yardi and Workiva preferred.
• Experience in real estate accounting, preferably within rental property environments, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Interest in or experience applying AI, automation, or other emerging technologies to improve accounting workflows.

Candidates based in Austin, Texas, are required to work in the office near Downtown Austin (hybrid schedule) to facilitate collaboration with local teams.
