OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect, assess and test products for conformity assessment with international and national regulations with the end result being a Certificate, and/or Technical Report for the client.
  2. Prepare reports and documentation of customer products to the appropriate standards.
  3. Support sales and marketing with expertise as required including customer presentations.
  4. Correspond, orally, and in writing, with customers and if necessary, with Product Safety Agencies such as UL, CSA, and VDE with respect to Product Design Approaches for Safety.
  5. Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including providing quotes, answering questions, relaying messages, and providing information with regard to standards and test procedures to bring products into compliance with requirements. Maintain confidentiality of customers, products tested, and appropriate internal information.
  6. Keep abreast of present and future Product Safety requirements, test procedures, instrumentation, technology, and TÜV America Engineering service capabilities by internal training sessions, external seminars, and reading of technical articles.
  7. Validation of clients’ requirements (may require site visits).
  8. Provide help to customers and staff during their safety test program.
  9. Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects.
  10. Work within the controls and constraints of an ISO 17025 Quality System.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Company laptops and phones.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

This position is fully remote. It requires the ability to perform product setup and testing activities involving lifting and manipulation of equipment up to 25kgs.

EDUCATION:

  • Master of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years experience in safety testing and certification.
  • 2 years in functional safety assessment.
