Responsibilities

  1. Derive software safety requirements for application software and/or platform software
  2. Contribute to creation of technical safety requirements
  3. Support implementation of software safety requirements at the application software layer and/or platform software
  4. Support/derive safety analysis using SW-FTA, SW-FMEA
  5. Lead the development of SW architecture for safety, including ASIL decomposition, freedom-from-interference analysis, dependent failure analysis
  6. Derive safety measures (e.g. Plausibility check, Memory protection) in application software and/or platform software
  7. Write fault injection test cases to support SIL and HIL testing
  8. Support HSI (Hardware-Software Interface) content between software and internal/external developed hardware
  9. Support defining programming and coding guidelines for the software development teams
  10. Support tool classification and qualification across Rivian’s software toolsets
  11. Develop verification and validation methods to support testing of software safety mechanisms
  12. Document relevant software safety requirements, analysis, architecture implementation, verification and validation events for application software/or platform software for Rivian ECUs

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors Degree education in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science, or related field
  2. 5+ years of experience developing safety software within the automotive space
  3. Experience with the ADAS domain
  4. Experience with ISO 26262, with emphasis on ISO 26262 Part 6 and Part 8
  5. Experience in developing automotive software with a focus on safety
  6. Experience with embedded systems
  7. Experience with C programming and/or model-based design using Simulink
  8. Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. JAMA, Doors, etc.), issue tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.), SW version control tools (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, SVN, etc.)
  9. Experience with agile software development process
  10. Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity
  11. Experience working within a cross-functional team
  12. Proven experience working on multiple projects
  13. Strong team player; drive to exceed expectations and meet deadlines
  14. Additional experience working on NXP or Infineon automotive safety processors is a plus

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $146,900-$232,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary:Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
