Job summary

Tensor is seeking a senior functional safety engineer to lead safety activities for HW and SW in autonomous driving systems. You will drive FMEDA, FTA and HARA analyses and ensure ISO 26262 compliance across development and operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and help shape safety concepts while advancing a world-class autonomous vehicle program.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with ISO26262, ISO 21448, and UL 4600.
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics.
• Experience with functional safety for autonomous vehicles.
• Strong technical communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage functional safety activities across HW and SW development and operations of autonomous driving systems.
• Conduct safety analysis, including FMEDA, FTA and HARA, develop and implement safety concepts and requirements in compliance with ISO 26262.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into the design and validation.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on functional safety practices and methodologies.

Preferences

• PhD’s degree with 5+ years of automotive, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience;
• Experience in leading small teams of functional safety engineers.
• Experience in the automotive self driving industry.
