Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced VMware NSX-T administrator to design, implement, and manage enterprise NSX-T environments in a complex data center setting.

You will drive network security, micro-segmentation, and automation across virtualized workloads while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and resilience of the infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and VXLAN.
• Hands-on experience with vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related VMware ecosystem technologies.
• Experience with automation using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs.
• VMware certifications such as VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent hands-on expertise.
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer VMware NSX-T environments, including logical routing, switching, load balancing, and distributed firewall policies.
• Manage micro segmentation strategies and enforce security posture across virtualized workloads.
• Perform maintenance, updates, and lifecycle management of NSX components and related VMware platforms.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and logs using native and third-party tools.
• Troubleshoot issues involving network overlays, transport nodes, edge appliances, and physical-network integrations.
• Collaborate with network, server, and security teams on architecture designs, platform upgrades, and new deployments.
• Develop and maintain topology diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration records.
• Implement automation and scripting to improve efficiency, consistency, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Support incident response activities related to network virtualization.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical infrastructure issues.
