Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced VMware NSX-T administrator in the United States to design, deploy, and manage NSX-T environments. You will handle routing, switching, security policies, and disaster recovery readiness while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications include VCP-NV/VCAP-NV and hands-on VMware tech expertise, with a focus on automation using PowerShell or Python. This role may involve on-call duties and enterprise-scale deployments.

Qualifications

Experience administering NSX-T in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and VXLAN.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related VMware technologies.
Automation/scripting with PowerShell/PowerCLI/Python/REST APIs.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, configure, and administer VMware NSX-T enterprise environments.
Manage logical routing, switching, load balancing, and distributed firewall policies.
Implement and maintain micro-segmentation strategies and security policies.
Perform NSX component maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and logs.
Troubleshoot issues involving network overlays, transport nodes, edge appliances, and physical network integrations.
Collaborate with network, server, security, and architecture teams on upgrades and deployments.
Create and maintain network topology diagrams, SOPs, and configuration records.
Develop automation to improve efficiency and disaster recovery readiness.
Support incident response and provide escalation for critical issues.
Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

Pennsylvania residents only; candidate must currently live in Pennsylvania
Strong hands-on experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments
Strong understanding of VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and VXLAN
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related VMware technologies
Strong troubleshooting skills across networking and virtualization layers
Knowledge of network security and micro-segmentation
Experience with automation/scripting using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs
VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent VMware NSX hands-on expertise highly desired
Cloud networking experience with AWS and/or Azure highly desired
Experience with VMware Aria Operations, vRealize Network Insight, SolarWinds, or Splunk highly desired
Must provide current U.S. work authorization status
Must answer whether they have hands-on VMware NSX-T enterprise administration experience
