Job summary

FutureSoft Consulting Inc. seeks an experienced VMware NSX-T Administrator to design, deploy, and operate an enterprise NSX-T environment, ensuring security and high availability across data center networks. The role emphasizes hands-on NSX-T, vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, micro-segmentation, and automation.

Work will involve collaboration with network, security, and architecture teams, along with on-call rotation and ongoing platform modernization from our Harrisburg, PA office in a hybrid arrangement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.

• Proficient in automating tasks with PowerShell/PowerCLI/Python/REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and administer enterprise VMware NSX-T environments.
• Manage NSX-T logical switching, routing, transport zones, edge nodes, and overlays.
• Configure NSX-T Distributed Firewall policies and micro-segmentation strategies.
• Develop automation to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with network, security, architecture, and server teams and participate in on-call rotations.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced VMware NSX-T Administrator to support the design, deployment, administration, security, and ongoing operation of an enterprise VMware NSX-T environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with VMware NSX-T, network virtualization, micro‑segmentation, VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, routing protocols, network security, troubleshooting, and automation.

This position will work closely with network engineering, infrastructure, server, security, and architecture teams to maintain highly available and secure virtualized networking environments while supporting platform modernization and data center initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and administer enterprise VMware NSX-T environments.
• Manage NSX-T logical switching, logical routing, transport zones, transport nodes, edge nodes, and network overlays.
• Configure and maintain NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW) policies.
• Design and implement micro‑segmentation strategies for virtual workloads.
• Configure and support NSX-T load balancing and related network services.
• Maintain network connectivity between virtualized environments and physical infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking technologies and routing protocols including:
  • VLANs
  • VXLAN/Geneve overlays
  • BGP
  • OSPF
  • TCP/IP
  • DNS
  • Routing and switching
• Perform upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and maintenance of NSX-T and associated VMware infrastructure.
• Monitor NSX infrastructure availability, utilization, health, logs, capacity, and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving:
  • Network overlays
  • Transport nodes
  • Edge appliances
  • Routing
  • Switching
  • Firewall policies
  • Physical network integrations
  • Virtual networking
• Administer and support VMware technologies including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Work closely with security teams to maintain network security standards and segmentation policies.
• Support architecture planning, infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new platform deployments.
• Develop automation and scripts to improve operational efficiency and configuration consistency.
• Utilize technologies such as:

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with:

• Strong understanding of network security best practices.
• Experience creating and managing NSX-T firewall and security policies.
• Experience with infrastructure automation or scripting using one or more of the following:

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with network, server, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and architecture teams.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• VMware certification such as:
  • VCP-NV – VMware Certified Professional, Network Virtualization
  • VCAP-NV – VMware Certified Advanced Professional, Network Virtualization
  • Comparable VMware certification or equivalent hands‑on expertise
• Experience with cloud networking environments, particularly:

Candidate Location Requirement

Candidates must currently reside in Pennsylvania.

This is a hybrid position requiring approximately one day per week onsite in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Additional Requirements

Any assigned equipment must remain within the United States and cannot be taken or used outside the United States.

The selected consultant must comply with all applicable information security, equipment handling, and remote‑work requirements.
