Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Teacher to provide services outlined in IEPs/PEPs, instruct small groups to boost academic achievement, and implement individualized educational plans for assigned students in a structured classroom setting. The role includes direct instruction across core subjects, creation of unit plans for ~9 students, and ongoing progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a valid State Department of Education Teaching Certificate in the area required by the specific assignment, or eligible and willing to obtain the certificate within state-mandated timelines.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the Arrow Center for Education policies; supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom and school events.
• Provide direct group and individual instruction to students in English/language arts, math, science, social studies and/or electives.
• Prepare comprehensive unit plans for groups of ~9 students; tailor curriculum using student performance and learning style data.
• Create a stimulating learning environment and motivate students who may not adjust well to school.
• Ensure timely completion of paperwork tracking progress: attendance, grades, and behavior logs.
• Prepare periodic evaluations through IEP/PEP for assigned students and suggest plan changes.
• Participate in Treatment Team; communicate information verbally and in writing.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a positive school culture.
• Maintain safety rules and crisis intervention when necessary.
• Inform Principal of relevant situations.
• Maintain emergency lesson plans for unforeseen absences.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Share Arrow Child & Family Ministries mission with staff, students, and families served.
• Perform duties per contract, state and federal regulations and company policy.
