Job summary

Physical Intelligence in San Francisco seeks a Fullstack Software Engineer to build internal products that power Pi's research and operations teams. You will work closely with researchers, prototypers, operators, and other engineers to turn operational workflows into reliable software.

Annotate tooling and data pipelines are central to this role, with focus on quality, throughput, and collaboration across lab, warehouse, and real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production web apps and APIs with React/TypeScript/Python.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and analytical systems (ClickHouse).
• Familiarity with cloud and containerized environments (GCP, Kubernetes).
• Ability to design workflows where people, models, and software function as one system.

Responsibilities

• Own annotation tooling: build platforms and workflows for annotation generation and translate researcher requirements into actionable software.
• Make annotation legible: track quality, cost, throughput, and coverage for researchers to analyze and adjust.
• Own researcher requests and planning: redesign how researchers convert needs into executable work and model capacity tradeoffs.
• Build research and ops-facing tooling: dataset browsing, eval dashboards, throughput and progress tracking for lab, warehouse, and real-world sites.
• Act as your own PM: gather requirements, prioritize work, write specs, ship tools, drive adoption, and iterate on feedback.
• Ship production-quality software: frontend interfaces, backend APIs, data models, dashboards, and cloud services.
