Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES) in Austin, TX, is expanding and hiring for a Veterinary Assistant in Diagnostic Imaging. The role supports practitioners and licensed technicians, assists with radiology, labs, and patient prep, and helps ensure smooth workflow in a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of customer service experience in a medical setting is required.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required.
• The ability to work independently while being self-driven and eager to grow.
• A proactive mindset, always looking for process improvements and opportunities for collaboration to streamline operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pack prep with cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
• Wrapping and organizing surgical instruments.
• Assist with surgery laundry.
• Prepare lab samples for outgoing laboratories.
• Convey information in an accurate and professional way.
• Invoicing/preparing estimates.
• Admitting/Discharging patients.
• Assist Technicians when transporting patients to CT or procedure, radiology or recovery.
• Escort clients to exam rooms and obtain patient history and vitals.
• Maintain cleanliness in radiology suite and hospital areas.
• Assist in keeping patients clean and dry at all times.
