PetVet Care Centers’ Providence Animal Hospital in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including equipment cleaning, feeding, restraining and handling patients, preparing surgery suites, and performing clerical duties.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Medical knowledge is required
• Basic animal restraint

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and their owners and record vital signs
• Triage patients, perform physical exams and administer medications as directed by licensed veterinary staff
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and ensure proper documentation of medications and controlled substances
• Maintain cleanliness of hospital, kennels and facilities
• Bath and care for patients staying overnight and ensure proper grooming
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with safety regulations
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization
