Job summary

Laurel Veterinary Clinic, part of the Suveto network, is hiring veterinary assistants for a full-time position in Broomfield, CO. The team embraces fear-free medicine and emphasizes client education to provide gold-standard patient care.

The ideal candidate loves animals, communicates well, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting doctors, taking histories, venipuncture, in-house tests, and maintaining clean, stocked areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and restrain animals safely.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist veterinarians during appointments.
• Take histories from clients and record observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventive care and follow up.
• Educate clients on exam/discharge procedures and care plans.
• Perform venipuncture, in-house tests, and process outside lab referrals.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients, including medications.
• Admit and discharge patients per protocols and educate clients on this process.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms, treatment areas, and wards.
• Operate practice software for dispensing medications and printing labels.
• Uphold OSHA safety standards in the hospital.
• Perform client callbacks and updates as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
