Founders Green Animal Hospital in Denver, Colorado is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff dedicated to high-quality care for every patient and excellent client service.

As part of your role you will assist during examinations and procedures, safely handle animals, keep examination rooms clean, perform basic lab tests, administer medications under supervision, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience working with animals in a veterinary setting.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Technical know-how with disinfection and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
