Job summary

MTM Transit, in partnership with the Salem Area Mass Transit, is seeking Full Time Drivers to operate ADA Paratransit, Shop & Ride and Fixed Regional routes in Salem, OR. Training classes start every other week.

Location: 2195 Hyacinth NE, Suite 170, Salem, OR 97301. Earn an hourly rate of $22.51 with generous benefits and opportunities for growth. CDL assistance and paid training are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid Oregon Class B CDL with air brake & passenger endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License for the past 5 years.
• No more than five moving violations in three years.
• No more than two at-fault or chargeable accidents in five years.
• No suspensions or revocations in past 5 years.
• No felony, drug or alcohol convictions in last 10 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.
• Must pass background and MV record checks.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Resume with 10+ years work history required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers.
• Demonstrate defensive driving skills.
• Deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading.
• Secure mobility devices as required for safety.
• Ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off of customers.
• Display sensitivity to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections; paperwork as required.
• Use tablets or electronic devices as required.
