Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of recreation experience in a healthcare setting required.
• CTRS or national certification in progress, or related clinical certification.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and implement activity therapy as part of patient treatment plans.
• Assess patient needs and tailor activities to improve outcomes.
• Lead activities including leisure skills, education, and relaxation techniques.
• Facilitate sessions to enhance mental and physical well-being.
• Develop and modify treatment plans and interventions for individuals or groups.
• Engage patients to learn social skills and independence.
• Ensure patient safety and address concerns with empathy.
