Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a full-time teacher for exceptional students responsible for delivering instruction based on Individual Education Programs (IEPs). This role requires a Bachelor's degree and Active PA Certification in Special Education.

No previous experience is necessary, although several years in a similar role is preferred. The teacher will assist in physical needs and manage behavior during emotional stress. A supportive training program will be provided.

Purpose Of Position

The teachers of exceptional students are responsible for planning and implementing an effective program of instruction based on students' Individual Education Programs (IEP's). Teachers report to their respective Program Supervisor.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
• Certification Required: Active PA Certification in Special Education.
• Experience Required: None required; several years of experience preferred.
• Essential Physical Requirement: The strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting students ranging in age from pre‑school to twenty‑one and any assistive appliances, for example: wheelchair. The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using the Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Quality Behavior Supports (QBS) method, depending on program need, for which training will be provided.
