Responsibilities

• Demonstrates correct aseptic technique and maintains sterile field.
• Plans and directs workflow during surgical procedures to support the surgeon and patient.
• Acts as first scrub on all surgical procedures.
• Knows Code Cart location, contents, and use during Code 99.
• Ensures patient safety with sponge/sharp counts and proper use of electrosurgical equipment.
