Job summary

Shriners Children's is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to join the Portland, OR team. The role focuses on intraoperative care, pre- and post-operative phases, and ensuring a safe sterile environment under surgical staff guidance.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, planning workflow, serving as first scrub, and supporting Code Cart operations while upholding infection control standards. BLS is required, and CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Surgical Technology required.
• Minimum 1 year OR scrub experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates aseptic technique and maintains sterile field.
• Plans and directs workflow during surgical procedures.
• Serves as first scrub on procedures.
• Knows Code Cart location, contents and usage.
• Supports Code 99 procedures as needed.
• Performs sponge and sharps counts and ensures patient safety.
• Adheres to infection control policies in the OR.
