Job summary

DC Prep in Washington, DC is seeking a Full-Time Substitute Teacher for the 2026‑2027 year. You will deliver instruction across our six campus locations and support the Lead Teacher with daily activities and classroom routines.

You will engage families, help maintain a positive classroom culture, and participate in ongoing professional development to grow as an educator within DC Prep’s mission.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in an urban public school with a record of high student achievement highly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction as a full‑time substitute across campuses
• Support lead teachers and follow lesson plans to implement instruction
• Assist in collecting and grading classwork and assessments
• Collaborate with lead teachers to maintain a strong classroom community
• Engage families and communicate about student progress
• Participate in weekly professional development
