Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School in Washington, DC is seeking a substitute teacher to provide continuity in day-to-day classroom responsibilities in the absence of the regular teacher. You will manage the classroom, follow planned lessons, and support students.

The role emphasizes Responsive Classroom, inclusion, and collaboration with colleagues; a 10-month schedule with competitive hourly pay and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 48 hours college credits, or equivalent experience.
• One year of experience working with children ages 3-12; school setting preferred.
• Bilingual preferred, English-Spanish.
• Experience with students with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage or co-manage the classroom and provide instructions per plans.
• Embody Responsive Classroom to create a community of learners.
• Uphold high expectations for all students.
• Differentiate instruction and promote student engagement.
• Assist with daily routines: attendance, supplies, lunch, recess, COVID protocols.
