Job description

The Camp Hill School District is seeking candidates for an available Full-Time Study Hall Monitor position at Camp Hill Middle School/High School. The position is eligible for benefits, including medical, vision, dental and life insurance, and paid leave.

Job Summary

Actively monitor middle and high school students during their study hall periods, including taking attendance and keeping students focused and on task.

Essential Functions

• Using the SIS, track student attendance in the SH daily.
• Maintain a quiet working environment for students.
• Track student movement to various classes and to the library.
• Help students to stay on task.
• Work with students to make a list of assignments that are due.
• Help students with organization and time management.
• Monitor behavior of students per the student code of conduct.
• Provides assistance in classrooms, library, or cafeteria as additional support during free periods in the schedule.
• Develop and enforce seating charts for each study hall
• Administer district safety and security initiatives and expectations.

Additional Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Experience working with students is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people, including students, teachers and other staff members.
• Basic computer knowledge of web-based programs and email.

Physical Requirements

Position requires stooping, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, standing in a stationary position, walking at moderate speeds, use of fingers. Study Hall Monitor needs to be able to quickly move between classrooms at the end of each time period. Person must be able to communicate verbally and to hear with no more than a 40-decibel loss. Vision clarity of near, far and mid-range vision is needed (less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet). Depth perception, ability to focus on objects clearly, with field of vision and ability to identify colors is recommended.
