At Build-A-Bear, the Chief Workshop Manager is responsible for the flawless execution of the store experience for both guests and associates. A leader who fully embraces our core values and standards while inspiring others is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a role model leader, embodying the values and standards of the organization
  • Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing store team
  • Be accountable for the overall success of the store, including achieving financial goals, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering outstanding guest experiences
  • Develop and grow the store team
  • Maintain a visually appealing and engaging store environment
  • Oversee all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and policy compliance
  • Implement strategies to increase sales, control expenses, and meet financial targets
  • Conduct performance reviews and address performance issues promptly according to company guidelines
  • Provide leadership support to ensure team members adhere to service standards

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric environment, preferably in specialty retail
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of POS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of store management experience in a similar setting
  • Associate’s degree or higher in business, management, or related field
  • Proficiency with Store Force, UKG, POS systems, and Microsoft Outlook
