Job summary

ALDI USA in Sterling, VA is hiring a full-time Store Associate to support merchandising, stocking, cashiering and cleaning to deliver an outstanding shopping experience. You will work with the ALDI team to fulfill customer needs and maintain store standards.

The role requires 30+ hours weekly, starting wage of $20.50 per hour, and opportunities for wage increases in subsequent years. Prioritize safety, accuracy and excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Able to operate all store equipment including cash registers, floor scrubber, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
• Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Basic arithmetic operations (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Work independently and with others.
• Organize, prioritize and complete tasks to maximize productivity.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
• Meet availability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Model and uphold customer service principles and escalate concerns to management.
• Inform management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
• Operate POS system to scan and process purchases; report scanning concerns.
• Adhere to cash policies and procedures.
• Open additional check lanes to ensure efficient checkout.
• Stock shelves and displays per merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders accurately and ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Maintain zone and merchandising standards at all times.
• Assist management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
• Comply with company policies and processes.
• Maintain a safe working environment by addressing hazards and ensuring equipment is in good order.
• Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning to company standards.
