Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician for a full-time evening shift at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. The role involves decontamination, sterilization, assembly of sterile supplies, case carts, and distribution of equipment used in patient care.

The position requires prior sterile/healthcare experience preferred, with a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm schedule and pay range $20.35–$29.75 per hour. Online applications are accepted.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related Healthcare field preferred or college courses/related experience may substitute.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift greater than 50 pounds.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and transports equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Decontaminates the full range of reusable patient care equipment and medical supplies.
• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, high level disinfects, assembles and transports flexible fiberscopes and related probes.
• Sterilizes instruments and supplies using steam or gas sterilizers; disinfects with antiseptic solutions.
• Operates sterilizing and decontamination equipment; handles related machinery and accessories.
• Prepares packages of supplies and instrument trays; labels and seals according to standards.
