Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK is seeking a Full Time Sterile Processing Tech to support the surgical team. You will plan and prepare for procedures, sterilize instruments, and assemble scheduled and emergency case carts.

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 1–2 years scrub experience and BLS are required. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential. This role offers meaningful impact, competitive compensation, and growth within the UHS family.

Qualifications

• Certification as CST is required.
• 1–2 years of scrubbing experience in an operating room setting.
• BLS certification required.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates correct Materials Management (instruments, sponges, needles, etc.).
• Displays various transfer techniques with sharps, as needed.
• Counting of surgical objects as required per policy.
• Accountability and care of surgical specimens.
• Adheres to OSHA exposure plan guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the surgery environment.
• Uses the correct Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Functions within all surgery specialties (Ortho, Neuro, General, Vascular, OB/GYN, Plastic, Cysto, Uro and Opth.).
• Scrubs for operative procedures with aseptic technique and infection control.
• Assists the nurse in patient prep, positioning, and transportation.
