Job summary

Northwest AEA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive services for learners from birth to 21, collaborating with educators, families, and communities. The SLP will assess speech and language skills and deliver intervention strategies within the educational framework to support communication development and overall learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Iowa BoEE B-21 Speech-Language Pathologist license or Iowa Department of Public Health license with SPR.
• ASHA CCCs encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Consultation, collaboration, and coaching with school staff, families, and community organizations to improve learner outcomes.
• Complete comprehensive evaluations to determine eligibility for Early ACCESS or special education and develop IFSPs or IEPs.
• Provide direct instruction or consultative support to improve speech and language disorders.
• Utilize data to inform instructional strategies, monitor progress, and refine interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with FERPA/HIPAA and agency policies.
