River Parishes Community College is an open admission institution that partners with the communities and businesses of the river parishes region of Louisiana to provide workforce training, certificates, diplomas, and Associate Degrees.

POSITION TITLE Full-Time Speech Communication Instructor

APPOINTMENT Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY This is a 9-month, full-time position. Instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include face-to-face/online and/or evening classes. Full-time faculty are expected to actively serve on campus committees, participate in campus activities, and participate in student advising and recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in communication/speech OR master’s degree (in any discipline) and 18 graduate semester hours in communication/speech. Official transcripts must be submitted. Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. Previous teaching experience preferred. Proficiencies in classroom technologies (podium computer, laptop, iPad, and SMARTBoard) and use of Canvas LMS Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with diverse student populations.
