Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Kansas City, Kansas. The role is on-site with full-time hours and competitive pay, with guaranteed hours and planning time built into the schedule.

You will collaborate with students, families, and school teams to deliver individualized instruction, monitor progress, develop and monitor IEPs, and serve as a case manager while supporting inclusion and student participation across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field
• Active or eligible Special Education certification
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, eligibility, progress monitoring
• School-based special education experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Good organization and time-management skills
• Comfort with educational technology, data collection, and documentation
• Ability to complete required background clearances

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group special education instruction
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual student needs
• Collect data and monitor academic, behavioral, and functional progress
• Complete progress reports, IEP documentation, and required records
• Conduct or participate in educational assessments and eligibility processes
• Serve as a case manager for assigned students
• Participate in IEP, eligibility, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and administrators
• Support positive behavior, inclusion, independence, and student participation across school environments
