Chartwells K-12 is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The role supports the Executive Chef, coordinates cooks and food-service staff, and assumes responsibility in the Executive Chef's absence.

Qualified candidates bring prior culinary and kitchen experience. The position offers full-time hours, flexible scheduling, and benefits. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $26.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior culinary and kitchen experience is required.
• Ability to supervise hourly food service staff, interview, schedule, payroll, training and counseling as appropriate.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling and training.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety procedures.
• Ensures proper handling, presentation and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and workstation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
