Job summary

Lampstand Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bryan, TX is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house team developing person-centered care to improve residents' communication and swallowing health.

You will evaluate residents, design individualized treatment plans, provide AAC systems when needed, educate families and staff, and collaborate with other professionals to support safe, high-quality outcomes in a SNF setting.

Qualifications

• Active Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
• In good standing with regulatory boards
• SNF/long-term care experience preferred
• Current knowledge of treatment practices
• Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' conditions for swallowing or cognitive deficits
• Help residents in their goals to improve cognition or swallowing
• Education for residents and caregivers
• Provide skilled, medically necessary SLP assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide AAC systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders
• Provide training to clients, family, caregivers, and other professionals
• Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures as ordered by physician
• Demonstrate competent technical skills according to current SLP standards of practice
• Communicate changes in resident’s condition
• Provide accurate billing records and documentation
• Respond to family requests and concerns
• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other staff
• Ensure no abuse or neglect; protect resident safety
• Observe confidentiality and safeguards for patient information
• Comply with laws and professional requirements
