Job summary

Rehabilitation Center of Orlando seeks a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team in Orlando, FL. You will evaluate residents, develop personalized treatment plans, and address speech, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Florida SLP license or eligibility.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA or eligibility.
• Strong clinical experience in dysphagia management and cognitive rehabilitation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Experience in nursing home or rehabilitation settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech-language pathology treatment plans.
• Assess and monitor residents with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Design therapy programs based on each resident's abilities, interests, and rehabilitation goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Recommend and assist with acquiring adaptive communication devices and train residents in their proper use.
• Provide cognitive and communication therapy to maximize resident independence and quality of life.
• Modify treatment plans as residents' needs and progress evolve.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, techniques, and home programs when appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide education and training to nursing, medical, and therapy staff on speech therapy techniques and swallowing safety.
• Supervise Speech Therapy Assistants and support personnel in accordance with state regulations and professional standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, state, and facility guidelines.
• Foster a compassionate, resident-centered environment that promotes dignity, respect, and individualized care.
