Job summary

Wentworth Senior Living in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Repair Technician to keep our community safe, clean, and fully operational. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in building maintenance (handyman, maintenance tech, or similar) and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or skilled trade certification preferred.
• 2+ years of general building maintenance experience in residential, healthcare, or senior living environments.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to older adults.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and appliance repair.
• Complete custodial and groundskeeping duties including floor care, sanitation, landscaping, snow removal and upkeep of common areas.
• Conduct regular inspections and respond to work orders to identify and resolve safety, maintenance and operational issues.
• Monitor life safety systems and ensure compliance with health and safety standards with accurate records.
• Support facility operations including vendor coordination, equipment upkeep, and on-call response.
