Kirkwood Wellness & Rehabilitation in Kirkwood, Missouri, is hiring a full-time Activity Assistant to help create engaging activities and meaningful experiences for our nursing home residents. Experience in activities, recreation, senior living, or long-term care is preferred, with a supportive environment that offers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility, creativity, and a genuine desire to work with seniors.
• Ability to work the required schedule, including every other weekend.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, nursing homes, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred.
• Activity Director or activity-related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily activities, including group games, arts and crafts, music, and social programs.
• Providing one-on-one visits and meaningful social interaction with residents.
• Helping plan special events, celebrations, and community outings.
• Assisting with volunteer coordination and participation.
• Posting activity calendars and maintaining accurate activity documentation.
• Encouraging resident engagement, socialization, and participation in recreational programs.
• Adapting activities to meet residents’ interests and needs.
