Job summary

Kirkwood Wellness & Rehabilitation in Kirkwood, MO is hiring a full-time Activity Assistant to plan and coordinate recreational activities for residents in a skilled nursing and long-term care community. You will work closely with the Activity Director to create meaningful daily experiences and meaningful interactions for seniors.

Ideal candidates bring a friendly, outgoing demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for helping seniors.

Qualifications

Friendly, outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills.
Flexibility, creativity, and a genuine desire to work with seniors.
Ability to work the required schedule, including every other weekend.
Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, nursing homes, or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting with daily activities, including group games, arts and crafts, music, and social programs.
Providing one-on-one visits and meaningful social interaction with residents.
Helping plan special events, celebrations, and community outings.
Assisting with volunteer coordination and participation.
Posting activity calendars and maintaining accurate activity documentation.
Encouraging resident engagement, socialization, and participation in recreational programs.
Adapting activities to meet residents’ interests and needs.
