Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Driver Patrol Loss Prevention to patrol a busy retail location, deter incidents, assist customers, and maintain a professional presence.

The role is unarmed, requires a valid driver’s license and may include background checks and drug screening. Schedule is overnight, with steady shifts and opportunities for training and advancement within a nationwide security services company.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to retail location customers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with directing visitors, supporting store operations during busy periods, and maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
