Job summary

Westminster Center School in Westminster, Vermont is seeking a Paraprofessional for the school year to support instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional development. The role involves assisting with instruction, supervising students, and data collection under supervision of certified staff.

The position reports to the Building Principal and/or Director of Student Services; a collaborative, positive team approach is essential for student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Must have at least 48 college credits OR pass Praxis ParaPro exam or meet Title I requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately to students with sound judgment.
• Experience with school-aged children, including students with disabilities, preferred.
• Basic academic, technology, and data tracking skills; proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
• Positive, flexible and collaborative; able to work as part of a team.
• Maintain confidentiality and regular, punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Support students' social-emotional growth, independence, and positive peer interactions.
• Communicate and collaborate with teachers, case managers, related service providers and other admins.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Supervise students throughout the school day including transitions, meals, recess, transport, and activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
