Job summary

The Covenant School in Dallas, TX seeks a Staff Accountant to handle day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, gifts and contribution reporting, and support month-end close and year-end reporting. You will provide financial data to the Controller for financial statements, budgeting, variance analysis and forecasting, while maintaining confidentiality and applying GAAP principles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years of GAAP-based accounting experience.
Experience multi-tasking operational and accounting duties.
Three years of QuickBooks and MS Excel proficiency.
Maintain confidentiality with staff, students and families.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and adapt to interruptions.

Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and timely.
Post receipts to General Ledger and follow up on delinquent accounts.
Route invoices for approval and reconcile monthly.
Prepare journal entries including payroll, benefits, investments and reconciliations.
Assist with audit schedules and year-end financial statements.
