Mt. Diablo Unified School District in Concord, California is seeking an Equipment Mechanic Technician for the Maintenance Building #4046. The role performs skilled mechanical repair work on a variety of equipment under supervision.

Work days: 260 per year; schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 am–3:30 pm. Starting date: Immediately.

Qualifications include four years of equipment repair experience, a valid California driver’s license, and successful completion of fingerprinting and TB testing.

Qualifications

• A combination of training and experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible experience in general equipment repair work.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and of repair methods.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and overhauls grounds, gardening, custodial, and maintenance equipment
• Assists in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems
• Assists in the maintenance and mechanical adjustment of classroom machinery and office machinery including lamination machines
• Assists in the maintenance of gymnasium equipment including basketball back boards, winches, bleachers, and curtains
• Rebuilds engines
• Maintains and repairs air compressors, Hoya lifts, wheelchair lifts, and food wrapping machines
• Maintains the back-up generator of the TIS department
• May do electric and gas welding
