Job summary

Jumoke Academy Charter School in Hartford, CT is seeking a full-time Custodian for the 2026-2027 school year at Thelma Ellis Dickerson Elementary Campus. The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with in-person attendance required daily.

The Custodian will perform custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other tasks to keep buildings healthy, safe and sanitary. Reports to the Facilities Supervisor and supports a clean, secure learning environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment.
• Ability to read labels and follow safety instructions, especially cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, meeting spaces, and school facilities.
• Mop tile and concrete floors; vacuum carpets.
• Dust furniture and fixtures; wash and disinfect washrooms.
• Restock supplies and report damages or vandalism.
• Maintain safe, sanitary environment and assist with minor repairs.
• Keep storage areas tidy and report equipment issues.
