Job summary

Central Bucks School District is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Unami Middle School for the 2026/2027 year. This full-time, benefits-eligible position requires 1:1 care for medically fragile students, including feeding, toileting, and daily living assistance, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA Training program and passing competency exam to become certified (preferred, not required).
• Knowledge and experience in seizure first aid, aspiration precautions, and operation of medical devices (e.g., Hoyer lift, wheelchairs).
• Training will be provided by the Certified School Nurse and Staff Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to medically fragile students in the MDS classroom 1:1.
• Assist with feeding, toileting, personal care, positioning/repositioning, and ambulation.
• Transition students between wheelchairs, standers, and other equipment.
• Obtain vital signs and support daily living activities.

LOCATION: Unami Middle School

AVAILABLE: 2026/2027 School Year

COMPENSATION: $25.49 p/hour

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8 hour day (30 minute unpaid lunch)

DESCRIPTION: The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide direct care and support to medically fragile students in the MDS classroom working 1:1 with special education students who have health-related needs. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to assistance with feeding, toileting, and personal care, positioning/repositioning, assisting with ambulation, transition students between wheelchairs, standers, and other adaptive equipment, obtaining vital signs, and supporting activities of daily living. CNAs will work under the direction of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) and perform additional duties as assigned based on individual student needs, training, and the CNA scope of practice.

REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a state-approved CNA Training program and passing competency exam to become certified (preferred, not required). The (Certified) Nursing Assistant may process Basic Life Support CPR/AED training or undergo CBSD's Professional Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid Certification program. Must possess knowledge and have experience in seizure first aid and precautions, aspiration precautions and the operation of medical devices (i.e., Hoyer lift, wheelchairs). Training for this staff member will be provided by the Certified School Nurse and Staff Nurses with their assigned buildings.
