Job summary

LMAS District Health Department is seeking a school-based Mental Health Specialist to provide on-site services at Manistique Middle and High School. The role covers intake, risk assessments, and evidence-based treatment for children and young adults, working within a collaborative network of health providers and school staff.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in social work or counseling and is licensed to practice in Michigan (LMSW or LPC).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and Michigan licensure as LMSW or LPC.
• Experience in confidential intake, risk assessment and treatment planning.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide on-site comprehensive mental health services from mild to moderate severity in Manistique Middle and High School.
• Perform confidential intake, risk assessment and develop treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents and young adults.
• Collaborate with health providers, school staff and community resources to meet needs.
